New features and databases added to Central Search

Serials Solutions has added a new feature called clustering to our existing federated search program Central Search. Clustering is a new technology that organizes results in a way where similar search results are grouped together.

The clustering box is placed on the upper left hand corner of the results page with the title "Clustered Results". Users can view their clustered results by topic, publication date, journal, and author, using the tabs at the top of the clustered results box.

Clicking on the “Show In Clusters” link within a search result will highlight in yellow within the custering box where that result fits into the list of clustered topics. The “Remove highlighting” link in the clustered results box will remove this highlighting.

In addition, Lexis-Nexis Academic and Encyclopedia Britannica Online are now available for searching within this federated search product.
