New Database: OAIster (FirstSearch)

OAIster is has been added to the A to Z list of all databases and the FirstSearch infopage. This resource is now included in our annual subscription to the First Search base package (at no additional cost). A link has also been added on the library website navigational menu at Search & Find-Other Catalogs.

OAIster is a catalog
of more than 19 million digital resources from over 1,000 organizations. For example, it contains a link to the digital version of the book Dear Dorothy Dix from the internet Archive (search for Dorothy Dix).

OAIster also contains a link to a scanned postcard of Dunbar Lake (1941) from the Digital Past Local History Repository (search for Clarksville, TN). I have discovered that the URL for this postcard must be copied a pasted into the address bar before the image can be seen--

New databases: Wilson databases provided by TBR (RODP)

In addition to the new TEL databases published on the A-Z list of databases on Thursday (2-16), there were six databases provided by the Tennessee Board of Regents which had not been made available through the library website. These resources have now been made available on the A to Z list and appropriate subject resource pages.

No unique journal titles have been added to the collection due to the activation of these resources. All the titles in these collections are also available through the Wilson OmniFile Full Text database.

A list of all the new titles and their corresponding resource pages can be found below. Please let me know if you would like a resource added, moved up or down in location, or removed from a subject/resource page for a department in which you are a liaison.
