RefWorks now in version 2.0 for APSU

I have migrated the APSU RefWorks account to the 2.0 version and updated the RefWorks information webpages.

The main link now defaults to the 2.0 version, but a link to the classic version is still provided on the page (directly below the main link). RefWorks has not given a specific date when access to the classic version will end.

All of your existing folders and references should have automatically transferred to the 2.0 interface.

Access to Disclosure (Corporate Snapshots) removed

Disclosure (Corporate Snapshots) has been removed from the list of all databases and subject pages. Access will be discontinued through First Search for this product. You can use the Hoover's and Mergent resources as alternate resources to company information.

New resource: The Chronicle of Higher Education

APSU now has a site license to the online version of The Chronicle of Higher Education courtesy of Woodward Library. While some articles in this publication have always been free, you will now be able to access all the articles available on the Chronicle website. Access should be granted to The Chronicle online from any internet connection on campus. It can also be accessed off-campus using the links from the library website. It is available from the list of all databases, the Find Periodicals tool, and the News and Current Events resource guide.

Articles published in The Chronicle from 1989 to present can be searched using the search box on the homepage.

There is also an archive of the ten most recent issues which can be browsed as complete issues, listing all the articles available online for each individual edition.

In addition to daily news and online issues, access is also provided to these features:

Job Center lists thousands of opportunities in higher education.

Facts and Figures is section for locating Facts and Figures related to Higher Education,

Almanac of Higher Education includes state profiles and provides key data on the most important trends in higher education.

Gale History Resource Centers changed to History in Context

History Resource Center: U.S. and History Resource Center: World have been given a completely new interface and titled U.S. History in Context and World History in Context. I have made the required modifications on the A-Z list of databases and the relevant subject pages.

Gale retired all Resource Centers in August and replaced them with a new portal interface which goes beyond simple search and retrieval to providing context through comprehensive topic overviews and the integration of reference materials with journals, magazines, newspapers, images, video and other content formats to fully aid the discovery, evaluation and application of information.

More information the about the new interface and the reason for these changes from Gale can be found at http://www.gale.cengage.com/InContext/faq.htm
