SciFinder (Web Version)

SciFinder Scholar (downloadable desktop version) will no longer be available for APSU on April 22, 2010. This resource is being replaced by SciFinder (web version) which contains all the same features of the desktop version in an online interface. I have placed notices concerning this change on the information pages for each, the A-Z list of databases, and the relevant resource pages.

SciFinder (web version) requires registration for an individual account. You must use an apsu.edu e-mail address and create a user name and password. Your account will not be activated until you click on a confirmation link which is sent to your e-mail.

As with the desktop version of SciFinder Scholar, access to the web version is only available from computers located on the APSU campus network. Three simultaneous users are available.

A SciFinder file conversion tool is available to convert SciFinder Saved Answers from SciFinder Scholar (.sfr) to SciFinder Web format (.akx).

New Database: MathSciNet

MathSciNet is now available from the A-Z list of databases and the Mathematics resources webpage.

MathSciNet is an electronic publication offering access to a carefully maintained and easily searchable database of reviews, abstracts and bibliographic information for much of the mathematical sciences literature. Over 100,000 new items are added each year, most of them classified according to the Mathematics Subject Classification.

See the info page at http://library.apsu.edu/inform/21MathSciNet.htm for instructions on searching MathSciNet.

I have set up OpenURL linking which is available within this database by clicking on the button labeled "Search for Full-Text @ APSU".
